I never thought that the information I learned in my cosmetology courses would be as complex as they have been.  I have been surprised because I initially thought it would be a fluf school full of simple classes and easy information to memorize.  I was wrong, but happy about that.  I realized my courses are made to challenge, and interest me and they have.  My favourite so far has to be the make up course though.  Learning about technique and colors has been a wonderful experience, and made me wonder if I would enjoy doing make up professional when I get out of school.

Navicular drop test is a measurement of how much the navicular bone in the foot moves between its most relaxed position and when the foot is in its subtalar joint neutral position. This measures the vertical movement of the bone and is related to how much the arch collapses. This is considered a useful measurement of how the foot functions during walking and is also a measurement that can be used to determine how high to make arch support or foot orthotics. The measurement does have some issues with its reliability so it should be done several times over. For these, some have formal research for it.

When asked about some tips and advice on how to lose weoght I tell people to Eat Less. Sounds crazy but you know there is no other way. No don’t get me wrong, I really mean eat less of the fattening foos but I have to hit people hard by just telling them to eat less. Then we get into specifics. The very best thing to do is to eat more of ‘good foods’ – ones that are good for you, and less of the fatty, stodgy foods that can only do you harm in the long run. Eating less should be your mantra to help you lose weight.

Fixing breakfast for the kids. Getting them dressed for school.  Taking them and picking them up from school.  Taking them and bringing them back from basketball practice.  Then it’s off to their piano lessons.  Don’t forget dinner and bedtime preparations.  Typical role for a mother?  Nope…try the father.

Jay plays guitar in a local band. They have been very busy playing in several of the clubs down town. Jay has decided to look for an attenuator for his electric guitar. There is that old saying that goes, the fruit don’t fall too far from the tree. Well, as a matter of fact, it doesn’t. My son came home from pre-school and said,”Momma, they should make hot cocoa come out of the drinking fountains.” He continued to tell me how he and I drink hot cocoa together on snowy days and it would be easier if it just came out of a fountain, like the water at school. I love to go shopping to pick up my kids toys because they are as much fun for me to play with as it is for them.  Growing up I never got to play with toys that had such extensive details as my kids get to enjoy now.  Their toys all seem to be more high tech then anything I would have even been able to figure out at their age, so opening up toys and figuring it out with them has become a favorite pass time of mine.  Watching them build their skills through playing with these toys is a reason I continue to buy such extreme toys for my kids over and over again.

Being that I was going to be a more mature bride, I wasn’t really into the whole white dress scene. I wanted a nice event, but at the same time, it wasn’t really that kind of affair. One of my dearest friends suggested that I might want to look at formal dress suits for women. I was excited about what I was seeing and ultimately decided that would be the perfect choice for my nuptials. We only had a small group of family and friends, but I still felt like a million bucks celebrating my special wedding day in style.
