I like going to the local blues clubs in my town. I especially love blues guitar players. They seem to have so much soul. I watch in amazement as most of them play crazy lead parts like it’s nothing to them. What I didn’t realize until I started taking some blues guitar lessons is that they have me fooled. I bought a set of blues dvds that were aimed at the beginner, so I though I’d take quite some time to reach the level of playing these guitarists are at. I was surprised that after a month I was piecing together solos that I had never thought I’d be playing. It turns out that the blues, and music as a whole, is a group of basic principles and topics pieced together to make up the more technical sounds that we all stare in awe at.
