What You Learn in Performing Arts Schools Doesn’t Always Help

August 27th, 2010 . by admin

Going on an audition as an actor is one of the hardest things to do. Many well know, great actors have gone on record as saying they are terrible at auditioning. It is a real, unrealistic situation and not the ideal place to try and get a job. That being said, it is still the way they do it in the entertainment business. All things you learn in Performing Arts Schools don’t real help “in the room.” Just remember: 1) They want to you to be right for the role. They would like nothing more to stop the casting process, 2) Move on after the audition. You are not going to get almost all of the auditions you go on. 3) You may not have been right for that role, but if you did a good job, they will remember and bring you in for something else down the road.
