Certified nurse assistants may also take temperature readings, check patients’ pulse rates and blood pressure, and set up equipment in the operating theater. Certified nurse assistants provide hands-on care to those who are unable to care for themselves. Certified nurse assistants also aid physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Additionally, certified nurse assistants may document patient interactions as needed and take precautions and remedial measures for the safety of patients. To obtain a certified nurse assistant job, one must have a high school diploma and be certified by an accredited nursing assistant program. Certified nurse assistant job candidates should be familiar with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures in their field.
