When my daughter was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, I was shocked. There isn’t a history of diabetes in either my family or my husbands family, so we just couldn’t figure out where it had come from. But we went ahead and started learning about juvenile diabetes, finding a diabetes supply store, and figuring out what lifestyle changes we would need to make. At least we were doing all of that until the doctor called. He said that he had gotten our daughter’s test results mixed up with another patient. We’re thankful that our daughter doesn’t have to deal with diabetes at such a young age, and we are also looking for a new doctor.
