Home security contract moving clauses

January 31st, 2010 . by admin

Some of the biggest problems home security customers face are moving clauses within the security company contracts. It is important when you’re signing up for the system that you understand exactly what happens if you move out of your home. Don’t always take the sales representative’s word for it either, read the contract and if you are confused call customer service.

Most companies charge only a small fee if you move within the first year, and even let you keep your existing contract. After your first year however, they will make you sign an entirely new contract as well as paying a moving fee in the ball park of $200. Understand what the rules are on moving while you have a contract with them so that you can be aware of it if you do move while under contract.
