Unlock Wii for Homebrew Applications
October 29th, 2009 . by adminTo unlock Wii consoles, a Wii user has to alter his or her console by using any of two types of modifications: the integration of a special piece of circuitry, also known as a modification chip, or by downloading and installing software modifications. Software modifications, also called softmods, tend to be safer for your system than using modchips. Modchips can potentially render your console inoperable as this process requires the insertion of a modchip into the delicate inner workings of your Wii. This may damage it beyond repair, or at least nullify its warranty. Softmods, on the other hand, may be uninstalled and deleted should they not work as expected.
