The region currently has two teams playing in the football league, namely Derby County Football Club and Chesterfield Football Club. Not only this, but the county is home to Sheffield Football Club, the worlds longest standing football club. Derby County are regarded as the best team in Derbyshire, primarily due to the fact that they have been playing professionally since the were founding members of the Football league. Chesterfield Football Club have been in existance for 141 years and are the fourth oldest football club in England. Although they have not been as successful as Derby County, they reached the semi final of the FA cup. They drew with Manchester United 3-3 at Old Trafford, only to lose out to Middlesbrough in the Semi Final.
